This policy explains what information Lackey Designs collects, why, and what happens to it. It covers this website, the Website Grader tool, and the internal client dashboard used to manage client sites.
Who we are
Lackey Designs is a web design and development consultancy operated by Lackey Designs LLC in Fishers, Indiana. We build and maintain websites for small businesses, primarily across Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

Information we collect
When you visit this site
Our host records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. These are used to keep the site running and secure, not to build a profile of you.
When you contact us
Our contact forms collect the name, email address, and message you provide, plus anything else you choose to include. We use this to respond to you and, if we end up working together, to manage the engagement. We do not sell it and we do not add you to a marketing list without asking.
When you use the Website Grader
The Website Grader accepts a domain name and produces a report about that site’s performance, SEO, accessibility, links, and security posture. We record the domain you entered, the resulting report, and your IP address. The IP address is used only to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse. Reports are cached for 24 hours so that repeat requests for the same domain do not re-run the scan.
If you submit your email address to receive a report, we use it to send you that report and to follow up about our services. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
The Grader inspects publicly available information about the domain you enter. It does not log into anything and it does not access private areas of any site.
If you are a client
For clients, we hold the business contact details, hosting and registrar information, and account notes needed to maintain your site. Where you have given us credentials for your systems, those are held only as long as we are working together and are removed on request.
Google user data
This section describes the Client Dashboard, an internal tool used only by Lackey Designs staff. It is not a public product and it is not offered to clients or third parties. It connects to a single Google mailbox belonging to Lackey Designs, using Google OAuth, so that client correspondence can be organized alongside the rest of our account management.
What we access
With your explicit consent at the Google sign-in screen, the dashboard requests access to read, compose, and send mail in the connected Google account. It uses this to read the mailbox thread list, to open individual threads on demand, and to save or send replies that a person has reviewed.
What we store
For each conversation, the dashboard stores the sender and recipient addresses, the timestamp, the subject line, and the one-line preview snippet that Gmail itself provides. It also stores an encrypted OAuth refresh token so the connection can be maintained without signing in repeatedly.
We do not store the body of any email. When a thread is opened in the dashboard, its contents are fetched from Gmail at that moment and are not retained afterward. There is no second copy of the correspondence sitting in our systems.
Mail classified by Gmail as spam, trash, chats, Promotions, or Social is excluded. Bulk and automated mail is filtered out and kept out of the index.
How we use it
The stored metadata is used to show which conversations are waiting on a reply, how often each client writes, and typical response times. That is the entire purpose.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or transfer Google user data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
There is one case where message content leaves our systems. If a staff member clicks the option to draft a reply with AI, the text of that single conversation is sent to Anthropic’s API to generate a suggested response. This happens only when a person clicks that button, for that one conversation. Conversations nobody drafts a reply to are never sent anywhere. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through its API.
Limited Use
Lackey Designs’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Security and retention
The OAuth refresh token is encrypted at rest. The dashboard itself sits behind password authentication and is not publicly accessible. Stored conversation metadata is kept until the mailbox is disconnected or the record is deleted, whichever comes first.
Revoking access
Access can be revoked at any time from the connected Google account at myaccount.google.com/connections, or by disconnecting the mailbox inside the dashboard. Revoking access stops all further syncing immediately. To have the stored metadata deleted as well, email us at support@lackeydesigns.com.
Cookies
This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, including session and security cookies set by WordPress.
The client dashboard uses a session cookie for authentication and a preference cookie to remember display settings. Neither is used for tracking.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers who process data on our behalf:
- SiteGround and Vercel for website and application hosting
- Resend for transactional and alert email
- Google for the Gmail, Search Console, and Analytics APIs used in client reporting
- Anthropic for AI-generated drafts, as described above
- Redis for application data storage
Each holds data only to provide their service to us.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@lackeydesigns.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data protection rights, such as the EEA, UK, or California, we will honor those rights regardless of where you are located.
Children
Our services are intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we handle Google user data will be reflected here before the change takes effect.
